Sleeping too much?

posted 5th Feb
My daughter has RSV and it seems like she has been sleeping for that last two days... She wakes up to eat every few hours, only about 2oz which is less than I'm used to but I was told she probably wouldn't be so hungry while she is fighting this, I am still giving her Pedialyte, she is having plenty of wet and more than usual poo diapers.. So she seems to be hydrated and her cough is a little better, still pretty stuffy but slowly getting better. . But she isn't awake for longer than it takes for her to eat 2 oz. or to change her diaper. I called the hospital she was seen at and asked if I should be concerned that she is sleeping so much and they said that they aren't concerned with sleep, only her breathing.. but it doesn't seem right? Anyone have any experience with this?

She is only 10/11 weeks if that makes a difference.

If she's lethargic bring her in.

If she is wetting enough I wouldn't be concerned. Her body is trying to recover.

sleep is a natural reaction to fighting illness.

Thanks, I'm a little paranoid I guess. I just want her to be her happy little self again.

RSV is tough smurf. If you notice a change in breathing do take her in though.

It definitely is. The only problem I see a with her breathing is when she has a coughing fit   she is losing her little voice from it and is so raspy

Before she got sick when she was mad it sounded like she would say "daaaadaaaaaa" and today she was crying and when I picked her up I clearly heard her say "muuuummmmmaaaaaa" My heart melted, even though I'm not sure she even knows she said it lol.. I'm taking it as a sign that she's healing any way.
