Yeap. I wanted a home birth with Audrianna so badddd, but it being after a c-section 18 months prior and me being away from any reputable hospitals that do VBACs just made me not comfortable with it. My hospital with her though left me alone most of the time and let me do my thing as I had requested.

Free birthing is with no help, and a lot of people are now doing that, no trained help at all, just "trusting their bodies"

There's enough stories there to show a problem.
The number of issues in hb are less than hospital because the number of UBS is FAR less. But if you could see an accurately recorded percentage, things would look different.

Jar a has 500 marbles. 300 are red, 200 are blue.
Jar b has 10,000 marbles. 3,000 are red. 7,000 are blue.
Just because jar b has more blue marbles than red, does not change that jar a has a higher percentage of red ones. There's just less marbles in the first jar

My SO's mom had 8 homebirths they aren't all bad as long as you have the right person delivering.SO is one of nine and her first actual homebirth. I also hated my hospital experience with my daughter she was perfectly healthy but the doctor i had was a bitch who i apperently yelled at. I honestly wont tell a women how to give birth to their child and i feel that everyone should respect the mothers wishes. Thats in a perfect world though. I can say i have thought about having a midwife attend me at my next birth instead of a doctor who could care less about anything other then money. Thats the kind of doctor i had.

No the "problem" is people like you who stick their nose in other people's business. Does it effect your life in any way if these women make the choice to birth at home unassisted? Nope didn't think so. So keep your opinions to yourself.

If midwives aren't able to do homebirths in IL by the time I have a kid I'll probably still do a homebirth. Oh and btw your link has midwives in it alot of the time. GASP You fail at logic here. You are an idiot.

How does something siting midwives=unassisted homebirth? Also why does it matter to you when it isn't your kid? There are alot of people that have had amazing home births

Ok. Well it's dangerous. Many of the stories ended with some version if @if my kid were born in a hospital, they'd still be alive" that's enough logic to sell me. I guess some others are too arrogant and confident in their powerful womanly abilities to see danger, putting the power of the instinctually guided female and proving something above safety.

If the advocates for that feel the need to speak out for home birth, I feel the need to speak out against it, and there may be someone reading this who isn't joining in the conversation who rethinks the foolish decision after viewing that website. If so, I've accomplished something. That's worth having some think I'm an idiot.

Good night and good luck with your gambling.

And hospitals come at increased risk of MERSA, RSV, FLU, want me to keep going? Hospitals are for sick people. Its not your place to try to scare a mother out of something she has researched with your ignorant I found one thing that says "it is dangerous" but yet I don't think hospital births are dangerous.

And many who have lost children during it. Minding your own business is not always good. People need to be aware of the dangers. All you can find is good stuff when you look it up. The other side ought to be exposed too. Only showing one side of something makes it questionable. Why hide the darker truth?
