I know nothing about the new baby part, but DD is wicked clingy and whiny when she is teething. But I also imagine she can sense things changing and the big change coming soon and therefore might be trying to stay close to you in hopes that Mommy doesn't change.

V is doing the same exact thing. I can ONLY get her to sleep if she cuddles me and touches me with her arm or something while she sleeps.

Sounds to me like you sleeping in her bed is what she remembers. She's too small to REALIZE what's going on as far as a pregnancy, I'd assume. But, then again, I've not been pregnant again yet so who knows there. Maybe she does sense it. Have you talked to her pediatrician about this habit? Do you work? Maybe she's missing you...this is OUR case...and sometimes Chris wants to sleep with me because he misses me or needs some more snuggle time. I don't mind it.

She knows there's a baby in my tummy & she calls her brother by his name when she points or feels my belly. Shes a very, very smart almost 2 year old. I have weekly/biweekly ultrasounds (depending on when I see my OB) and she knows that the doctor is looking at her brother. So as far as the pregnancy, she knows what's going on. She's been involved with everything.
I'm a SAHM. Im with her all of the time besides putting her to bed, which is what DH does. This has only been going on for about 2 weeks, so I haven't brought it up to her doctor. Only reason I slept with her in her bed when she was sick was because she had severe croup and she would stop breathing thought the night. So sleeping with her was recommended by her doctor because of how bad it was.

Yeah she's not teething. She actually usually never shows signs of teething. I'm thinking she does sense he's going to be coming soon. So maybe this is just an attention thing.
I talked to my mom about it today & she's thinking that's what it is. A couple of my mommy friends said the same thing has happened to them when they were pregnant. Then it eventually faded out. It's just strange to me since she's a very independent little girl, since she's been born.
