CELL PHONE?

posted 4th Feb
My 10 year old niece will be 11 in just a matter of days, i want to get her a cell phone to stay safe since shes starting to get more freedom. But the only way I will even consider it is if my sister or I can completely control calls and text. I remember i had a firefly phone or something of the sort where my mom could control who i called, i could only call programmed numbers and needed a password (which only my mom knew) to enter new numbers. Any of you ladies have these for your children? I do not want any access to internet or even for her to be able to use wifi. Just a basic phone that will only allow her to call certain approved numbers. The phone I had would be absolutely perfect for her but obviously that was back in my middle school years so that phone is long gone! Thanks if any of you can help

My daughter has a cell phone, she's 8. She can call any numbers and any numbers can call her but she does not have the internet or anything fancy. Just a phone to make and receive calls. She takes the bus to and from school so that's the main reason she has it.

Sadly, I cant put that much trust into her yet. I only want her to be able to contact pre-programmed numbers. I am just not comfortable with anybody having the ability to contact her. Very scary for me. &Thank you

I just thought for worst case scenario if something were to happen to my phone, how would I contact her in the case of an emergency. I understand your concern though.

Frog phones give you 4 numbers. 3 that you program and 1 for 911. My son will have one when he goes to school.
