first morning workout

What should you eat when you workout first thing in the morning?
\Maybe a protein smoothie, drink half 30 minutes before working out, then the other half?

I wouldn't eat anything before hand, just have a protein shake afterward, maybe some eggs and toast.

I've worked out before first thing in the morning, and my blood sugar is way down that if I don't eat I will pass out.

Oh I see, have something small like an hour before. I wouldn't do 30 minutes, I think that's cutting it too close.

I mostly take the fresh fruits juices and protein shake before starting the morning workouts.
I focus more on apple, and orange juices for getting the energy necessary to do the workout.

I read an article recently about working out first thing in the morning before eating. They called it fasted working out and said it burned more calories and fat. But it only works in the morning. You aren't suppose to fast all day and then work out. Doesn't have the same effect. (Technically you fast at night since you are sleeping) I always feel crumby when I try to workout right after eating. If I had more time I'd see if I could find it for you but it's time to go make lunch!
