re: How would you feel?

Well according to some people posting in response to the news articles, she has apparently been doing this for months. And while it was highly unprofessional and poor judgment I don't really think she should lose her job, but it does make me rethink having her as my doctor.

My mother was the one that informed me of the article and she is pushing me to find another doctor. What drew her to the article was the fact that the doctor asked if she could be late to a delivery and she didn't show up to the delivery of my daughter. But my daughter came very quickly, lol. This does, however make it hard for me to trust her.

What the hell?! I definitely don't think she should be fired!!

I'm willing to bet that most people who work with regular customers or patients often say more than they should to uninvolved people. It's kind of human nature. I heard way more than I ever should have when I worked at a spa. It's amazing what people will admit to their massage therapists. But small talk between trusted co-workers is different than putting it on facebook, viewable to the public.

Nope she's just human. We like to think Dr.s are "better" in some way but they are just like us. I'm sure it wasn't intended for everyone to see. I am friends with a few docs from my old work and they sure as smurf vent. I like that she finds a bit of humor in the sucky part of being a doc 

I don't think it's very professional of her to be posting things like that on her facebook. I would not want her as my doctor.

Yupp she should lose her job that isn't professional on her part. I would not continue seeing her.
But in another sense she shouldn't be friends with her patients on Facebook. That is getting to personal with your Dr. IMO!

Nothing that violates HIPAA. It's distasteful though

I'm friends with my OB/GYN on FB. I also am an L&D nurse so I work with her.

I don't think I could be friends with my OB/GYN in a setting where i'm face to face with someone who has been face to crotch with my vag. lol

IMO that's different as you have a working relationship with her. If you don't have that relationship set up then you need to have some sort of boundaries with patient/dr relationships.

Oh she didn't "mock" a stillbirth. Simply adding urgency to the post and justification for her obvious irritation with the situation.

I don't think she should lose her job but I wouldn't want her as my OB.


I'm pretty close to my midwife and my family doctor so I trust them, I wouldn't be able to trust someone like her. In turn, I wouldn't want to put my life and my child's life in the hands of someone I couldn't trust.

She didn't break any rules as she didn't identify the patient, unless HIPPA regulations differ state by state?

Regardless, I don't understand why the smurf it matters in the first place? I think the real smurf here is whoever thought it was a good idea to screenshot her FB and send it to the news. What a dick!

Very inappropriate and unprofessional. Damn near a HIPPA violation.
