Preemie Victory!

It's a bittersweet moment in all parents' lives but to the parents of preemies, it's also a feeling of sweet sweet victory!

Since a lot of parents are told their preemies may never walk, and they could have all these different issues and delays growing up. It's just a relief to have your kid finally hit at least ONE milestone at a decent age.

My DD was 4 weeks early and took longer in almost all milestones than my son did who was 2 weeks early now now my DD is 2 1/2 and is ahead in so much its insane!

my son will be 1 on febuary 25th and isnt walking. He was 9 weeks early and is now 11 months (9 adjusted). he's just now crawling.. i hate when people look at him like he should be doing more and i get sooo defensive!! Congrats momma! i cant wait untill mine can do that!

That's great she's ahead. It can be soo stressful waiting to see it they are going to catch up or have any lingering problems. But they are fighters!

DD started cruising on furniture at about 1 year adjusted, but 15 months actual. I'm sure he will get there, and don't listen to other people, you shouldn't compare regular kids and especially preemies to a regular kid!

Does he have things to pull up on? DD didn't start cruising along furniture until we finally got a couch (which she just learned how to climb up onto today, we're doomed!) and the playard gate that she pulls herself up.

He is trying to pull up soooo hard! He will pull up to standing on me or on the couch but usually not if hes alone on th floor! He will just now let me set him on the floor for more than 15 seconds! Hes my 3rd child and my first preemie so it is soo hard not to compare but im getting alot better :-) i just feel super lucky hes healthy!
