would you be pissed at your MIL??

She was bragging, saying "oh there's only one Nana" so I told her how my daughter calls my grandmother Nana Helen. She got all butt hurt.
Well a few weeks pass and SO is on the phone with her and she asked to speak to my daughter and he put her on speaker, which she didn't know.. she says to DD " do you know who this is?" DD says "nana."
Then she says, " yes! Its ur BEST nana!"
She's always putting smurf in my kids head and this REALLY pissed me off. Now every time I see her I'm all disgusted.
I even talked to DD how we don't play favorites with family mambers.
Would this piss u off too?

It would be very annoying, yes. Thankfully, SO and I both want nothing to do with his mother.

Mine does that too and my daughter isn't even here yet.............. "I'm going to be the best grandma out of all of the grandma's!" Seriously woman...... lol my mom will always come before you so don't get your hopes up.

I think that it would hurt me with my MIL. But in all honesty my mom does that. BUTTT my MIL has nothing to do with us, to the point that she said "I could give a damn if I EVER have a relationship with Brady." Brady is my innocent sweet little baby..

I try so hard not to pick favorites. But some choices from the past make it really really hard not to.... such as my soon to be MIL kicking me out of her house pregnant because her smurf of a boyfriend tried to steal my grandmothers ring out of my jewelry box. But yes OP I'd be very very annoyed! I know the feeling!

Yeah that would annoy the smurf out of me.

So I guess ur mom has the right to do that, geez. What a bitch!

She shouldn't be trying to take any light from her other Nana. They should be loved and respected equally. And if your mom continues to try and submissively put down her other Nana, in time, it's probably going to cause her to resent her for it....which is ironically the opposite of what she's seeking.

I'd be upset... I'd probably say something about her trying to play my kids against the other grandma's.
and kinda OT... my MIL chose the name Nana (Nah-nuh) before my son was born. my two oldest called her that for years, then my SIL had babies and they call her nannie.. so now she wants my kids to switch.. umm, no...

Well it different if she is actually the only one lol. But my grandmother lived 3 hrs away and when my daughter sees her like every couple of months, she totally adores her. And for this one to try to make her seem less important is just wrong.

Yeah that would annoy me.
Mil is ignoring us for the time being, has since Christmas. And I'm loving it lol.
She always tries to take the light off my mother. Mil lives 2 minutes away and my mother lives a 4 hour plane flight away. I wish it was in reverse.

Aww :-( I know how u feel. MIL lives right down the street and has a heart attack if she doesn't see my kids for one week. Sooo freaking annoying

She is using her giving us the silent treatment as us keeping the kids from her.
I don't think that made sense, but it did in my head.
