My mom tries to pull that. Irritates the hell out of me. She thinks that because my inlaws are poor and she has more money she's better. Her idea of love is to throw money at it. I don't even really care for her much. LOL. I know my son loves her now but that's because she feeds him and cuddles him and that's all he cares about. But once he's older she'll be sick of him. Once they're not babies she doesn't really care.

it would annoy me, but luckily my son hates my MIL just as much as i do lol. She is so loud and always in his face.
But then again, i like how she at least admits to being his grandma. My mom refused to let anyone including my son call her grandma at any point in time. And then gets extremely ass hurt if anyone calls her grandma. She is 45 and had a 24 year old married daughter who has a 4month son. It's not like she is 35 with a 14 year old daughter who had a child.

And that's how my mil is. She's always buying her things and saying,
" here you go. Because I love you so much" and DDs nana helen is totally not materialistic at all, so she thinks she's better than her. She's just so insecure. Ugghhh

Yeah, that would bug me. My MIL kind of does the same smurf though.

My kids call my MIL "Gram" and my mom "Grammy" But sometimes they will slip and call MIL Grammy and she always corrects them. "What did you call me? I'm not Grammy, I'm Gram." blah blah blah.

Like seriously lady, chill.

Yeah my MIL much rather spend a day with someone then buy them something (well she would like to but can't). My husband grew up in a much more loving family than I did, even when he'd go whole winters with no heat, and they were even homeless at times.
