BD's favorite color is purple and painted his bedroom two different shades of purple and now it's DS1's bedroom when he stays over there (BD moved to the basement). It's not my favorite color, but i don't think it really matters much. Actually DS1 looks adorable in dark purple and black (:

Colours are not sexist, people are.

Purple is just purple. It's not a boy/girl or unisex colour. It's just a colour. If you want a purple paci for him then buy one

My DH wore pink to work every day for a week last year. No one made a single comment, except several co-workers said he should wear it more often because it looks good on him. (His usual wardrobe consists of very muted earthy colors, so I think it was less about the pink and more about him wearing brighter stuff.)

I have a purple pram for my wee boy lol I knew he was a boy but I saw the purple one and loved it especially coz in Paris everyone wears black and has dull boring colours so I thought it would stand out if I was anywhere where we had to leave our prams like at nursery etc. My friends and family have recognised me from across teh street but no one's made any negative comments about it. They quite like it. i posted a photo, only one of my BFs sisters said it was girlyand that Calum would be confused

I think it knd of depends on teh shade, lilac is probably more girly than like a darker aubergine purple. That said I think kids should be allowed to wear whatever colour they want. Aparently up until teh 50s pink was the colour worn by baby boys and then for some reason it changed. I can't remember why.

Eli has a light purple dummy (it came in a 3 pack of teal and clear) he also has a pink dummy chain (was his cousins that never got used). Meh, they are little so I don't see much of a deal with it. You can dress them all in blue and they still be called a girl viceversa lol.

Btw that giggle and hot one is cute as. I'd just buy a bunch of them cause they go with all 3 of the colour dummy's you picked out!!

All colours are unisex to me. My son has rocked pink, and my daughter rocks blue.

Quoting Ecstasy:" Im more worried about him being mistaken for a girl LOL! I think purple is unisex, but i wondered ... [snip!] ... he was about 3 mo) a few people walked up & said 'Ohhh shes got gorgeous eyes! what a beautiful little girl' hahaha  "
My 5 yr old Ds has very long hair & gets mistaken as a girl all the time no matter how he dresses. He doesn't care & neither do I. And I mean, even when he has boots, jeans, a plaid shirt with a BIG BROTHER t-shirt on underneath....no one cares, they see long hair & think girl. So they will likely think whatever with or without a purple bink. Ds is pretty though, people would think girl before the long hair too, because (I think) he is the spitting image of me at that age. He's just a pretty boy.
