Could I have mastitis? :(

I was running a low grade fever yesterday, breasts ate warm and firm. My nipples hurt and surge with pain periodically I think due to my son not latching well.one breast is slightly pink in some spots, both of them very hard.

Today I have no fever, and was told to pump every few his to relieve engorgement, since my son has to be put on formula for a bit to get his eight up and back on track.

I'm scared :c how dangerous is Mastitis?

That doesn't sound like mastitis to me, when i had it i had a horrible fever and was delirious.. If you don't pump enough it will turn into mastitis.. And it can be pretty dangerous. You'll need antibiotics asap. I had it 3 different times before my soon turned a year old.

I had mastitis twice with my DD. I had a fever body aches and headache. My boob was hard and bright red on one side. I felt like hell... My DH said he has never seen me that sick. Usually you need antibiotics. However since your fever is gone if you did have it it sounds like your body fought it. Just be sure to keep your boobs as empty as possible. If your fever returns I would go to the doctor. Mastitis for me was kinda one of those things where you KNOW you have it. Good luck sweetie.
