frying marinated chicken w/o oil

posted 4th Feb
Not sure if I'm wording this right, but I marinated some cut-up chicken. I do not have any type of vegetable/olive oil. Is it okay to still cook them on the stove top? & how long do I cook them for to make sure they're cooked evenly? THanks.

Chicken has a lot of water in it, so the water will just end up coming out in the heat and it will essentially be boiled in it's own juices, then the chicken-water will evaporate and it will start to get browned. If you cut a piece in half (depending on how small it is?) and it is white, you're good to go.

If you're set on frying it, I've heard of people frying in Crisco although I've never tried it.

It will more than likely stick to the pan.
Do you have butter?

I think just until they're white all the way through. I fry chicken like that for tacos, and I just put a little butter in the pan so it doesn't stick.
