I have frequent UTI's and Kidney infections to the point of my left kidney being scarred badly and not functioning properly. The last month or so I've noticed that I only use the bathroom once or twice a day. I drink about two bottles of water a day and I drink lots of juice and usually a can of pop each day. I'm not sure if that's enough or not, but even when I drink a lot more than that it's still the same thing (urinating once or twice). I've had frequent UTI's for at least 3 years and no testing done besides CT's and ultrasounds of my kidney tumor.... no kidney or bladder tests, but he 'thinks' I have kidney reflux.

Is this something to be concerned about? Is it a sign of renal failure?

I would be looking into it further. That would scare the cap out of me if I drank that much fluid and only went 1-2 times a day.

I don't know but you should probably stop drinking pop altogether and drink a whole lot more water so nothing progresses.

I'm so busy with the kids that I always convince myself that my body is trained to hold it all day, but I know that's not true.... I just hate going to the urologist. I get really bloated which isn't normal for me and the last couple weeks my whole stomach area is sensitive to touch which has never happened. I took a pregnancy test like 5 minutes ago to rule that out and it was negative.

Pop is not good for your kidneys ecspecially diet soda. I am not one to judge though bc i am a Dr pepper feind lol. Not so much now that i have gotten pregnant ut i used to drink four to five a day. Also try taking cranberry pills they flush your system and promote good urinary health and keep uti's under control better. i have been prone to them since i was very little. i used to have to drink 2 glasses of cranberry juice a day but i got to the point where i hated the tatse so the dr said try the pills you can get them at pretty much any grocery store or walmart.

It is HORRIBLE for your kidneys and bladder. Anything with caffeine in it should be a no no to you.
