Sleeping and eating questions

posted 8th Jun
This isnt my first baby so I feel kinda stupid having to ask but....

My little girl is two weeks old and is eating 4oz.Seems like a lot to me,do you think thats too much?? My first didnt start eating that much until she was probably 3-4 months old, but Lily just isnt satisfied unless she has 4, or a little more than 3oz.....she's a pretty big baby(9lbs) so maybe thats why?

Also, at the hospital I was told to wake her up every 3 hours to eat if she wasnt waking up on her own...If she sleeps longer than this at night do you think I should just let her go until she's ready to wake up and eat or still wake her up every 3 hours?

Somehow I feel so much more clueless with this baby than with my first...lol.

Well, they say "never to wake a sleeping babie" when my babie was in the SCBU but she got to room in with me after 3 days I got yelled at for not waking her,I asked the pedi and he told me that she'd wake when she was hungry and not to worry..

my son's nurse told me to put him on a feeding schedule of 3 to4 hours during the day..and then feed him whenever he wakes up at night.

yeah, i've heard of the "never wake a sleeping baby" haha. She's mostly on a every 3 hour schedule during the day but she usually goes a little longer at night. I think the people at the hospital are crazy telling me to wake her up at night....lol.

Aidan was on a 4 hour feeding schedule even in the hospital... at 2 weeks it was 4ozs and by 4 weeks he was on 6ozs every 4 hours... And he wasn't even born 6lbs... I think every baby is different and will let you know when they're full, mostly by puking it all over you, lovely little goofballs... and I've never woken him up, he'd do a good job of doing that himself. He's been sleeping pretty much 8 hours a night since 5 weeks and is growing like a weed!!!

All babies are different, some babies eat 8 oz at 2 weeks. I would give her what she asks foras long as she's not throwing upor anything. And no, neverwake a sleepingbaby, when she's hungry she will wake up trust me.

Don't wake a sleeping baby! Tyla ate that much at 2 weeks. She was constantly sleeping but no doubt every 4hrs on the dot she'd wake up on her own to eat
