It took like a good week for her eyes to stop being gunky.

OMG no way. I can't miss work this entire week, it's bad enough I missed today.
Do you think I can still send him to school if it's gunky tomorrow? I mean, a warm washcloth takes it all away....

dd has never got it but, I have. Its very very contagious.

As long as he's had the eye drops, I think so. My daughter came down with it on Tuesday last week so I took her to urgent care, got the drops, and then sent her to daycare on Thursday without any problems.

I know that. Thankfully, I haven't gotten it yet.
Some websites say it's no longer contagious 24hrs after the start of treatment... but other websites say contagious it's entire course.

Oh okay. Did they give her the drops at school? When is it no longer contagious? Her school didn't say anything about that?

I've always been told that 24-48 hours after an antibiotic has been given, you're in the clear. The eyedrops are the antibiotic. I had to fill out a card saying when and how much they should give her. I brought in her discharge papers to show she had been seen.

With all of that, they let her attend on Thursday without any problems. She just cleaned her eyes when they got too goopy.

I have 4 kids and none of them got it from her which is probably thanks tot he prompt treatment. She had developed (shown signs) of pink eye within the hour of when I pick her up so they kept her isolated until I got her. A few of the kids from daycare all came down with it at the same time.

Oh okay. Yeah I think I'll send him tomorrow & just hope they don't call me. His eyes are red, but anytime he sleeps (nap or over night), they fill up with goop. So much that at night he complains that his eyes are glued shut

Good to know! I've been washing both our hands like crazy hoping I don't get it. His eye started showing a little discharge & I took him to the clinic like 2hrs later. So he also got started on the drops really quickly, so hopefully it clears up soon.
