Baby's Chapped Face

posted 4th Feb
My 5 month old DD's face is so chapped. She is always rubbing at it so I know it bothers her   She has been drooling a lot due to teething which doesn't help at all.

I have tried everything. Lanolin, unscented Vaseline, Aquaphor, unscented Chapstick, putting a humidifier in her room, even a prescribed cream from her doctor- nothing works. It looks so terrible. I don't know what to do.

Anyone else dealt with this?

I think you are just going to have to ride it out   I was going to say a cream lotion bc that's what we used when my sons whole body was covered in eczema and it cleared it up in 3 days. But you have already tired and it didn't work for you.

You could try applying olive oil every couple hours.

DD went through a stage just like that when she was around 5-6 months... the only thing that helped up was A&D ointment and a humidifier

I have this cream stick that's some sort of French product, easy to apply like chapstick, I will double check the name but think it's called mustela. Works good to smear on a toddler as they run by and we lube her up big time before bed. unfortunately I think it's just that time of year...

Im dealing with this exact same thing with my almost 4 month old we use Aveeno eczema for baby and I put it on him in the morning and every diaper change (cause he's happy when naked) so he let's me rub his little face and after bath before bed we put a thick layer on. His cheeks are almost like a scab cause he drools so much we change bibs at least 3 times a day! Sounds like we both have little drool babies!

This sounds exactly like Carolynn! I have to change her bib and onesie all of the time!

I have been using the Aveeno baby wash, maybe I will try the cream too.

Also some have suggested A&D? Might try that too.

Awww....you're in Cincinnati?? Im about 1 1/2 hrs from there! The Aveeno cream is kinda pricy I think about 9 or 10$ my MIL bought it before my baby was born and Im glad she did. It does come in a big bottle and I've also heard great things about A&D I keep meaning to pick it up myself my mom said she used that for everything when we were kids. Good luck!!
