I'm making cupcakes for my grandma's wedding next month and she wont give me any answers/feedback/hints towards flavors. Her exact words were "I trust you, you decide". So I'm making 150 cupcakes and I'm thinking five different kinds but I'm stuck on a flavor so I need your help pretty please  

These are the ones I'm already making
cupcake 1:
cake: Double Chocolate Fudge
frosting: Chocolate
filling: 60% cacao ganache (chocolate mixed with heavy cream. Kind of like a truffle)

cupcake 2:
cake: French Vanilla
frosting: Vanilla Bean
filling: Fresh strawberry or Raspberry compote OR milk chocolate ganache

cupcake 3:
The vegan Cupcake
cake: Dutch Chocolate(Carob)
frosting: Vanilla (almond/soy milk base)
filling: Dutch Cocoa Ganache

cupcake 4:
cake: Citrus Tart (lemon with a hint of lime)
frosting: Cream Cheese with Lemon Zest on Top
filling: Lemon Tart (almost like a meringue pie)



Okay so what cupcake option would you add to this assortment?

A lot of the cupcakes i know have to do with chocolate/marble/white cashew. So idk if any of those count

I'm caught between the red velvet and the lemon blueberry!

And now you have me wanting some really good cupcakes!!

red velvet

I'm a chocolate freak so the first one on your list is a dream come true lol. Lemon blueberry sounded awesome and now makes me want it  . Other options might be a carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting or a plain jane like yellow cupcakes. I keep wanting to post flavors for muffins :O but what you have sounds really awesome so far.

Yeah I'm on the same page as you. Red Velvet is a timeless classic with a wonderful richness to it. But on the other hand the Lemon Blueberry is a zesty sweet almost tart cupcake with a refreshing taste.

And the first cupcake is like a chocolate dream. I made them for DH's birthday last year and they were like a chocolate explosion in your mouth. Soo yummy  

lemon blueberry just seems more weddingish to me.

those cupcakes sound amazing! Idk if you've seen it but i was thinking about cupcake wars the whole time i was reading this post lol Have you thought about a cheescake cupcake? Otherwise i would go with Lemon Blueberry

I got the Key Lime Margarita cupcake recipe from Cupcake Wars   That show is amazing!

Cheesecake cupcakes would be great but I don't think the venue has a refrigerator to keep them in. I'm sure they wont go bad sitting out for an hour but I'm so leery about people getting sick from it.
I could try egg-less cheesecake cupcakes that way there is less of a food poisoning risk.

Like a grahm cracker crusted cheesecake cupcake with a sour cream frosting. Maybe some fresh raspberries or strawberries for a garnish.

You have me thinking about lots of cupcakes now. Thanks for the pregnancy craving lol. I went on google and found this myfindsonline.com/2010/04/21/cupcake-recipes. There are a couple of good ones on there. I love to bake but I don't have any creativity when it comes to arts n crafts let alone trying to make something creative. I do really mean original things though  .

I am sooo making the Chai Tea frosting Grapefruit cupcakes for DH's going away party  
I would have never thought the two would make a compatible taste pair. I've done a Chai Tea Vanilla bean cupcake but never with grapefruit.

Mmm that sounds really good, you'd probably have to put some extra sugar in there somewhere and you could even do a shortbread crust instead of graham cracker but not having a refrigerator sucks i would just try to do them egg less lol can you tell i LOVE cheesecake

The lemon blueberry cupcake would be amazing with a cheesecake filling. Like a surprise bite in the middle!
