labor dust please?

By my ultrasound due date, I am 39 weeks today. My perinatologist is reccomending induction at 39 weeks which I am trying to avoid.

Saturday night I started having strong, regular contractions every 2-3 minutes lasting between 60-80 seconds each. I was dilated to a 4 so they admitted me around 2:30 am. Yesterday around 8 am the contractions stopped COMPLETELY. Nothing. Just irritations. The midwife (I dislike this particular midwife who was there) said that if it were only irritations then walking wouldn't bring on labor, she wouldn't try sweeping my membranes, nothing in an attempt to stimulate it again because I wasn't 39 weeks yet (I was less then 24 hours away >  ). I am reeeeally hoping to avoid induction. I have tried RRL tea (been drinking it all pregnancy, but now large amounts), I've been taking EPO, I'm walking a ton, having sex, breastpump, went on a bumpy car ride.... smurf I even tried castor oil that's how desperate I am for SOMETHING. It didn't do anything, not even diarrhea. o.o; On top of that, I was told at school that since I'm technically in labor now (being 4 cm) I will not be allowed at clinicals until the baby is born. I can only miss so many hours and still make up.... so if anyone has something that I haven't heard of (regardless of how crazy it sounds) please, PLEASE HELP ME.

If you have tried all that, the baby will come when it is ready. You don't have to have an induction just because they recommend it, you can deny. It is your body.

My dr told me that castor oil and RRT etc. cause dehydration...which often brings on false labor. You can contract but then once you get fluids they stop.

I say sex and nipple stimulation. Really, only the semen will help any. Not much else.

you can refuse to be induced. try bouncing on a yoga ball. Ive also heard eating pineapple or spicy foods also heard of pressure points by your ankles. but honestly I dont think anything really works unless your LO is ready to come.

I know baby will come when she's ready, but to be honest I didn't do anything besides walking to put myself into labor on Saturday and I can't imagine how it just stopped. o.o And then being 4 cm I was sure that I just needed a little more push, lol. I guess not. Thank you everyone.

Its been happening to me a lot lately too.. Dr thinks they are off on my due date but we aren't changing it. but I can be walking and get these intense contractions and I think Im going to have to go in and then they just stop.. I have been having them off and on all day to day.. maybe try walking some more and climbing stairs? we have stairs in our house and every time I walk up them I get horrible contractions. Im trying to avoid labor until at least next week but my dr doesn't think I will make it that long..   guess we will wait and see but good luck to you!
