Going to the store.

posted 8th Jun
The other day my bf, my 3 year daughter Rhyleigh, and I went to wal-mart. Well my bf went some where else and I was doing the shopping for food which I like it that way cuz when hes around I cant take my time..lol. Well anyway I had Rhyleigh in the seat in the cart. We went down the aisle that has the boxes well I put my cart close to the shelves and Rhyleigh started to touch the boxes and they fell. Well I picked them up and I put them back and told Rhyleigh that if she touches the boxes again that mommy will smack her hands. Well there she went again, she touched some of the boxes again and they fell. I picked them up and smacked her hand firmly. Well she started to cry, and this lady came up to us and said, "no, no, mommy we dont hit." I looked at the lady and said more like yelled, " NO, NO LADY SHE'S MY DAUGHTER  !!" Her eyes got really wide after I yelled at her. And so I just walked off. GRRRRR that made me so mad. Well I went to find my bf and told him what happened and he just looked at me and said honey why were you so rude..   I just looked at him and walked off I couldnt believe that he wasn't backing me up... so now that i think about it... Was I in the wrong?

No. Shes your child and other people need to respect that.
If they want to have a word in the way a child is raised, they should have one of there own

You probably shouldn't have "yelled" but it definitely was not that woman's right to tell you not to swat your daughter's hand.

I'd understand someone stepping in if you socked your kid or something but that woman totally overstepped her boundaries.

I dont think so .. I tap maddy's hand and give her a stern no .. she needs to learn what okay and whats not ..... Its not like I'mgoing around beating the living crap out of my kid . But I cant stand people who sit there and come out of the blue and tell me how to parent .... And then a few aisles down you see there kids WAY out of line b/c the parents are more concerned with the way Im disaplining my child than taking care of their own ......

Lol.. thank you. but your right I shouldnt have yelled i should have just told but OMG it made me so mad. I swear my face was red and steam was coming out of my ears. I just couldnt believe that woman..lol. Next time I will try to keep my temper to myself...lol. If thats all possible. I think the reason she did it was because i dont look like Im 23 well I will be turning 23 in july but still I dont look my age and I think she tought oh hell Idk what she thought..lol.

You weren't beating your child so she had no business to say anything. I think you were definitely in the right. It's your child. She has no right to say anything or try and raise YOUR child it's YOUR child NOT hers. I would have said pretty much the same thing, or rather like, "Excuse me? This is my child you crazy lady who randomly comes up to other people trying to tell them how to raise children."

Thank you ladies sooooo much. I feel better now that I got my ladies to back me up..lol. Wha ti dont understand is how can people let their kids run everywhere? It would drive me nuts. There was a time where I butted in. But it wasnt like she was going to do anything about it. I was at a store and she was out of the cart and we were picking out snacks, and this boy, big boy like 5 he was so big, he ran down then aisl that we were in and i turned my back to put the snack in the cart and he ran over to my daughter who wasnt that far from me and pushed her down and ran back to his mom who saw everything and wasnt going to do anything i walked down to her and started to ask her what the fuck she was going to do about her son and she was going to act like she didnt see it and i was like ok well i know that theres cameras in here and my daughter and a bloody lip and so if she needs stitches you'll be paying for them and then that when she busted her sons butt and said that she was sorry.
