My rule for my son is no video games until the weekend. Is that reasonable? He is soon to be 6.

Sounds fair. We don't have video games all.

As long as you aren't or SO aren't playing constantly, we don't do vid games at all

My son is 6 also. My fiance and I make him waite to play only on the weekends. I think its resonable. Otherwise when they have school work it might interfer with it. We also make him clean his room before he can play on the weekends

LOL! True... mine tries to be one and I've just instituted this rule, much more difficult to do when they are older IMO.

He only has his play room to clean and a couple chores to do when I ask him to help me. And Im to blame the mess in our bedroom.   lol.

I'd like to hear from people who say that she is being unreasonable!

If that's what works for you.

My kids can play whenever they want, as long as homework or chores are done, and its not on a sports day. They play every night, but their games are dance games singing games and brain age games.

Dancing is being fit, signing helps them with their reading and brain age is all math and memory skill building. They are not fans of other kind of games.

But if it works for you go for it

Mine is failing half her classes so she lost all games and tv period right now. I think once her grades come up I will be putting into place video games only on the weekend and a one or two hour limit on tv :-S

I think it's reasonable.My kids don't play video games yet,but when they do ill probaly do the same.Cant imagine a kid playing games everyday for hours.Its not good..
