Seriously, second warning...The family documents the entire birth and death process of their child. Including it's last breath. Ok. Onward to the D&D
I've read about people that chose not to terminate even if the child has 0% chance of living and i've seen a lot of people call them selfish and really chastising them for their decision.
Although I would probably chose to terminate I found a really great video documenting a couples decision to have the child even though he had trisomy13.
So i'm curious, after watching the video do you still feel like they did something selfish if you had that mindset before watching?

Ok here is the video. Hopefully everyone read he above trigger warnings.
For some reason when I tried to include the video in the OP it made all the text disappear.
ugh yeh that was weird LOL i yoined it when I noticed in case you lost it when you added the video. Try just adding it in the comments.
If it was their first and only child, I would've done the same thing. And some people always hope against hope that there will be some kind of miracle and their baby would live, so I don't think it's that selfish. And especially for the people who consider a child a life no matter what from the time of conception, I can't see them terminating for any reason unless the mother's life was at risk.
I'm pretty sure there was a lady on here that did the exact same thing. I would never consider that selfish in any way. It's their child and they can choose how to go about having them.
I'm following a family's story. They were told their son wouldn't live to be born. He was, he actually lived until he was 8m, happily not in pain or suffering. The whole family got sick, they brought him to the dr & hospital multiple times & he was sent home. He died on his sisters 9th birthday. They aren't sure why, waiting on autopsy results. Miracles happen. It's that family's choice, not outside influences.
I don't think it's selfish. I would want to meet my daughter no matter what and whatever kind of consciousness she may have I believe she would want to meet her mother and feel loved. No matter how small. It may sound stupid but I would want us to enjoy each others company as long as possible.
edit: Gosh, the more I think about it the more I don't know. Because what if the child did survive and had a horrible life?
