Quoting Kim Pronovost:" Not giving him formula with rice. Formula fed babies are just as healthy as those who are breastfed. I do not feel guilty in the slightest for giving my children formula"
I couldn't breastfeed either, and even I know that Breast is best. I hated having to give DD formula. HATED it. I STILL feel guilty that we had to settle for formula. Adding cereal to the bottles is not only nutritionally detrimental, it's also a choking hazard. The fact that you use hunger as a reason for doing something so unrecommended is astounding to me. And don't use the 'Well reflux babies use it so it's ok!' bullsmurf, my DD WAS a reflux baby, and we still limited her cereal intake to what she could get from a spoon, twice a day. NEVER in her bottle unless she was having REALLY bad episodes where she would not hold her food.
