Wow OP... It's one thing to share an experience with someone. It is another thing to try to justify it and then continue to say that it is perfectly fine for everyone to do even though most professionals advise against it.

Just her smurffy 'advice' from OP in the thread she was bitching about. Should have been more clear.

I believe the UK government say peanut butter from 6 months.

OP if your first 2 babies didn't do well on formula did it occur to you to breastfeed or could you not do that? Didn't you research for subsequent babies about what is developmentally normal etc? This site does have mamas that put time and effort into learning about all aspects of parenting so it is annoying when someone posts harmful advice, (no matter how common it might be in your family or community/culture). There is quite a lot of basic info out there about infant feeding.

Breastfeeding did not work for any of my babies, and they do just fine with formula, no issues with it. Did plenty of research and made my own conclusions about what was best for my babies. I gave my experiences, same as everyone else on this site. I put time and effort into parenting as well. There is plenty on this site that I disagree with, but I am not arrogant enough to call the choices that others make wrong. We all have a right to do what we think is best for our babies. There is plenty of info out there both for and against just about everything. I did my research and went with what was right for my babies. I never told the OP from the other thread to give her baby cereal, just gave her my experience

I wondered because a lot of babies who need to eat all the time are wanting to suckle because they are in pain, either because of formula or thing in breastmilk that can be removed from the mothers diet. So rather than needing unhealthy baby rice as tiny babies they need a change of liquid source. I have never come across any scientific info that does not point out the risks of formula and early solids on a humans short term and life long development. If there is research stating the opposite i'd be interested to read it?

That link says nothing about newborns. They specifically say they still recommend exclusively breastfeeding until 4 months.

All the power to those who have successfully mastered breastfeeding. Wish I could have but it didn't work out. But giving them formula is just as good, they are still getting what they need.

Giving them formula is...sufficient. Not equal. And formula /with rice/ is subpar.

Not giving him formula with rice. Formula fed babies are just as healthy as those who are breastfed. I do not feel guilty in the slightest for giving my children formula

I don't know if you're being deliberately obtuse or if you genuinely can't keep up with the conversation.

Or if you're just that damn eager to find offense with everything.
