Learning how to oppen the fridge

My toddler just learned how to open the fridge, is the any tips on how to keep him out of it?

My 2 year old just figured this out . I know they make childproofing for this reason.

First off, I have a gate that separates my front hall, coat/shoe closet, and kitchen from the rest of my apt because I don't want kids (lots of visitors) to have access to the kitchen in case I'm cooking, etc.

I only keep things I wouldn't mind LO getting out alone and snacking on in the fridge.

However, if you don't want him in it, I would just get a gate depending on how old he is... you can tell him not to until he's blue in the face, I think sometimes toddlers just really don't understand that.

Redirecting. When it's done just tell child why you don't do it and redirect them to something else. Worked wonders with DD.

Yes but he has a 'snack' drawer in the kitchen with fruit in it for him, and i don't want to cut him off that.

If you keep persistent, it will work. DD used to throw fits because she knows her juice and milk is in the fridge, now we've taught her to ask and we let her open.

I had got a fridge lock worked wonders until they figured out how to use it lol

he is slow talking at the moment, he will be 2 in may but only knows 5 words

my son knows how to open the refrigerator and i just tell him no and if he wants something out of it he needs to ask. hes done it a few times but he hasnt done it in a while
