AFP Test

Just curious if anyone knows how long the Afp test results take? That is the 2 part test where they combine the results to tell you your risk for any abnormalities and such. I had the 2nd part done on jan 28th(one week from today) I am having super bad anxiety waiting for the results

is there something specific you're being tested for, or you're worried about? Or you're just doing it because it's a general test that they give to everyone?

No nothing specifici, I guess its just a routine blood test they give that tells your chances of having a baby with down syndrome, spina bifida etc

I wouldn't worry about it honestly./ Those tests have a high false positive rate so I didn't have either done. It would just cause undo worry and stress. You could have a 1 in 50 chance and everything could be perfectly fine. The only way to tell if baby has something wrong is an amnio so to me the blood test isn't necessary. Most of the time if baby has "markers" they are seen on u/s

They aren't very reliable. I got a negative result and a daughter with Down syndrome... Dont waste any sleep over that test hun!
