SAHM counting your steps

If your a stay at home mom and you have a step tracker, how many steps do you take a day? I just bought a fitbit and I have been getting a lot of steps but I literally walk around my house all day. Lol

I take about 2000 a day... I want to up it to about 4000 - 5000 a day.

I have a fitbit too and I LOVE it.

My "lazy day" goal is 8k, but ideally I want at least 10k, and 12k is a good day.

This is where I want to be I think. The first day my goal was 3000 but I got that and then uped it to 5000, ended up with about 6500 and that wasn't to hard. Then I got about 11000 the next day and then yesterday I got 17,000 but I went to the grocery store and I didn't sit down much at all. I think 8000-10000 is a good goal a day. I LOVE mine too! I think it's awesome how it tracks your sleep and it definitely helps me to move more!!

Yep, it's really great. It also links with my fitness pal, just so you know. So if you record your calories there, it will import the data for exercise and then it will take the info from my fitnesspal about food and put it into the fitbit site.

where did u guys get your step counters?

You can get them almost anywhere. The ones we have are called a fitbit. You can get them at best buy or target. They measure steps, flights of stairs, overall activitiy, calories burned (it's a guess of course, since there is no heart rate monitor) and they track sleep.

A regular pedometer can be gotten at walmart or anything like that. They do less, but if counting steps is all you want they're also cheaper.
