I dont see how, when she makes the car payments, has her own place and cares for her child by herself. Why should he have a say in anything, much less who she dates or where she drives? It sucks that your dad wasnt really there for you besides providing discipline, but at least you had your mom. My dad was all i had, and i was adopted at that. Spent most of my life wondering if my real dad would be a better one. (He wasnt)

My mom didn't want me working after I had my son cause she wanted me to focus on school. I completely understand where she's coming from. It took me awhile, I went back to work and tried to juggle everything and believe me its really hard. I wish I got my schooling done before because I can get a much better job with an education. If you don't like how your dad treats you then move out or try talking to him. If he helps you out in some way be grateful for that because not alot of dads do. My father wanted to kick me out and is a total prick towards me, I'd say talk to him, you are an adult so you have say over your life.
