When was your child off of the sippy cup and when is it too late? He uses them in public, one with water for naps/bedtime, and at Nana's (since she has three grandbabies running around). That's it. But, I'd eventually like to just pitch ours and go without them for good. He takes this one so I know it's not too horrible:
Like 2 1/2? Idk, just got sick of cleaning them. And we always lost the lids or the little plastic inserts inside the spout. We got her cups with lids and straws for the house. Other than that if we were out somewhere and she was thirsty she could just drink out of a regular water bottle.
My kids went off the sippy cup around 18 months or so. We didnt bring cups in the car anymore or anything of those kinds, just water bottles to drink from. They had their 1/2c of milk with meals and water throughout the day.
I dont see why they need to carry a cup around everywhere they go. A water bottle in my purse or their back pack when thirsty, we went out to eat a class of milk or juice to drink. If at the mall and they were thirsty and wanted milk I just bought a mini carton of milk.
DD1 switched to regular cups at 3. DS is 2 and I'm not thinking of taking the sippy cup away anytime before he turns 3. And I don't think it's ever "too late"? Every one switches to a regular cup eventually lol.
