Gerber life grow up plan?

posted 4th Feb
something I've heard about since damn, I was in high school? Like 3 years ago I saw it came out. It's life insurance? For you child. *(Which to me at first came across morbid)* but then I kept reading the plan follows them to adulthood, and doubles at twenty for no cost *(Supposedly you know how those things go)* and then they can upgrade it up to 10x the original amount. But ALSO can cash out on this guaranteeing some type of nest egg? That's the part that got my attention most. My baby having money when she leaves home. I didn't get that and I struggled. But I made it. I'd like her to be able to go to college and still have this money and feel safe. Anyone looked into this?

I don't know anything about the GLP so I am sorry to answer, but even if it doesn't do all those things or there are loop holes that make it not worth it, you should still look into life insurance for your lo. I know it does sound morbid but all we have on our kids is enough for a funeral and headstone. We don't want to make any money off our kids passing away but we sure don't want to be in mourning and trying to come up with thousands of dollars to put our child to rest. Just thought I would throw my opinion in, hopefully the GLP is good for you though

The policy puts up to 35k on them THATS WAY too much in my opinion. But I did choose the 15k. And for 8 dollars a mo. I figure until I run into something flaky it seemed legit. I'm also in the process of looking for life insurance for my SO and I. We both lost parents and it screwed us up a little. His mother at 3 with no life insurance, and when I was 3 I lost my father. And it kind of wrecked our parent financially. He got a settlement of 9k when his father died but he had no life insurance either. I definitely want my LO to be taken care of if I or SO passes. I want to be responsible. I'm trying to figure all this out before she's born lol.
