I hated the feeling of my water breaking. I felt like I was constantly peeing on myself but I had no control over it. Yuck.

I was 39 weeks + 2 days and was turning over in bed and it gushed everywhere. I thought that would be it but as I was walking down to the car a huge gush came again and soaked me completely down into my shoes lol it happened again as I was walking in the hospital and I just said smurf it and sloshed my way up to the OB department lol

Nope. The first time I was in labor about 18 hours before they broke my water and I was still only 4cm (after they broke my water it moved QUICK though) and with my second I was 5 cm when they broke it (and had never had a contraction that I could really feel). My third was an emergency c-section. My sister's water broke on it's own with her third baby. That was the first time I'd ever really heard of it breaking on it's own.

The first time they broke mine at 7cm and the second time it broke on it's own at 35 weeks. I woke up to a weird 'pop' feeling and jumped up and thought I was going to pee my pants so I ran to the toilet and peed and stood up and a puddle of fluid was on the floor..I honestly just thought I peed or something so I started getting the other two kids ready for the Independence Day Parade and I kept leaking so I called a family member to pick them up and take them to the parade. SO and I headed off to the hospital which was an hour away (baby had IUGR and I was in preterm labor from 30 weeks on so we had to go to a hospital with a NICU).... got there and got checked in and 16 minutes later there was my little Ava Renae

I had the same experience with my 1st but was already at the hospital waiting to be induced due to high blood pressure&felt like I had to pee.when I sat down on the toilet I felt& heard a 'pop'. Nothing happened right away so I got up&as I was walking out the door water started running down my legs so I did the 'penguin waddle' to the nurses station. lol.with my 2nd my midwife had to break it for me because my labor was stalled for hours. her head wasn't hitting my cervix properly cuz there was a pocket of amniotic fluid between her head&my cervix. Once she popped that pocket I soaked 4 huge hospital pads within 2 contractions.lol. my midwife was amazed at how much fluid I had in my belly. This time around I'm 35 weeks along& a week ago I lost my mucus plug (over a few days) & BH contractions have been super frequent&painful. I've also had A LOT of pressure down there in the past couple of days so every time I sit down on the toilet I get nervous that my water might break again but we'll see I guess!
