To charge 900 a month for elementary shool?
My brother went to a catholic college prep HS and my parents paid taht much, but damn, here in Abq, all the private montessori schools are 900 a month, thats like a mortgage payment!!!! And we deff cant afford that right now.. Waaaah. Why is it so damn much?

Because you are paying for children to act out later in life because they can't do anything public school kids can do.

That's crazy, here I can enroll my kids in private school for kindergarten for $5000 each a year, works out to about as much as daycare...actually at least $1000 less. When I start working again I want to enroll both of them. DS #1 in private school and DS #2 in a Montessori pre-k.

Its about right...
Depends if they are in parish, if they are in, its a lil less... Also what fundraisers they are required to do...

Yeah, that's about right. Up here, private elementary schools run between $8000 and $15000 per school year.
ETA: In Ontario, Catholic Schools are publicly funded, so there are no fees for them.

Yup
We will be paying 700 a month for 3 full days a week

I went to private school all my life. My parents paid 1,000 dollars a month.

Albuquerque public schools makes me nervous....... Idk i like the school my daughter is at now but i drive her 15 mins away into the mountains. There is one free monessori school here butbthere is a waitinglist and its far...

We will be paying about $500 a month. However, our other option (where I went to school) is more like $800 a month PLUS the expectation to give $700 in envelopes.

Sounds pretty reasonable. The Montessori school we like here is 12k for preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten and then it goes up to 15k for 1-6, and 18k for 6-12.

What does this mean?

That's pretty normal my parents paid $1,000 a month per kid. They also had mandated service hours because we weren't catholic.

It's a Catholic school. They want you to pay the huge tuition, plus go to church and give $700 a month in the donation baskets and those envelopes they mail out for donations.

Or your paying to put your kids in the school that parents expect to "fix" their rotten kids.
My kids will never attend a private school. I went to one for all but a few years of school. The kids are smurfs

I'm sorry but that's so stupid.
