I give up. I didn't mean to start drama. I just wanted to say I understand and I'm sorry on behalf of all the haters. No one should be so insensitive.

...... Just wanna throw it out that if you're coming onto any post in AS it is to give advice and support and that is all. No one needs to be adding in "Well I'm pro-life but...", "Well I would never have an abortion but.....", "Well abortion is fine but only before X amount of weeks because then it's a baby...."

Yes everyone has opinions however AS is a protected forum, people come here because it is a safe place and that language shouldn't be used here.

I'd move your last paragraph in the op to the top so it's not skimmed over and people realize what forum this is in.

People are allowed to express their opinion in a respectful manner. Personally I think this was the wrong forum for you to post a topic like this to begin with.

Thanks to ladies for supportive comments after smurffy feeling I had after that TV debate. As I said obviously know now not to expose myself to heavily one sided situations like that again

I agree. More people need to read the rules of posting in AS as well because I've seen waaaaay too many abortion posts turn into a D&D before because the main posters were BG newbs

Not in here they're not. There is a sticky at the top of this forum by Mara stating the rules. If I'm looking for support after feeling smurffy about my abortion because of peoples hateful opinions and I want to come to a safe place to do it then I'll come to AS, this is exactly the right forum thanks!

And if you kept reading maybe you'd see that I originally misread your OP. ;)Naming it The Abortion Debate probably wasn't the best either, these pop up in the side bar and people respond without looking to see where they're at. Just a helpful tip for next time, it might help defer negative opinions about abortion.

This is true!

I think that's why I was mostly confused originally too. I clicked it from the side bar and saw debate before anything.

I named it that because that is what set me off. The abortion debate in the UK right now about time limit and how it all turned into a general debate about being for or against abortion and how it became nasty and just made me feel like the lowest person. I normally feel ok about my decision but being exposed to that level of hate I lost it for a moment, well more than a moment and I hadn't dealt with that before. I also feel I made it quite clear I was posting in AS because it's a safe place so anyone reading that would know.
