Wisdom teeth extraction.

posted 4th Feb
I'm getting 3 wisdom teeth extracted on Thursday. I'm terrified, I have a high pain threshold but all I've heard are horror stories about the pain.

So I would like to know how your experience went with extractions, pain/pain killers also how long your recovery was. Thanks ladies..

I had all 4 out and threw up for 2 days from the pain. I was given Vicodin after the first day due to the intense pain, and I consider myself to have a high pain tolerance.

I got mine out in boot camp. The bottom two. I got to lay in bed for two days and eat lots of pudding lol. It wasn't that bad.

I was in pretty severe pain, it was bad. I also had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic they gave me and I had to go to the ER because of hyperemesis, it was bad

Mine were impacted badly, if I was given the right meds I would of slept through the first 4 days, and it would of been easy. Don't be shy asking for pain meds, these aren't normal teeth!

Hi, first of all its not that bad at all I had 3 of mine surgically removed and they were all horizontally impacted. You just have to take things easy and ull be gived tylenol 3s. I am a dental hygienist and have seen many many patients after wisdom teeth extractions. Yes the odd one will give u the horror story but its not all that bad. Just make sure you dont smoke cuz ull have a dry socket and that my dear is the worst pain ever. Ive had patients come in crying. Make sure you do warm salt water rinses. No exercising for a couple if days. No lifting heavy things. Soft foods. You wil be fine and dont stress yourself over it. Good luck.

I had all 4 of mine out at one, the two on the bottom were impacted. They gave me some drug intraveinously and woke up only once in the procedure. I saw the light overhead and thought I was on a UFO. It really wasn't so bad, I was sore a few days after but nothing major.

I hope I'm not so bad after, I have only been put under for surgery from child birth complications so I'm scared of maybe being put under.
