So I was hanging out with this guy. We acted like we were just friends, maybe some cuddling here and there, but that's it. His ex wife is a real crazy bitch, and really smurfed him up emotionally. He likes this girl that lives in Michigan (we live in NH) and he told me that the distance for him was great because he's afraid to get hurt.
He told me today "I just don't think I can do it right now" to letting he and I let things run their course and see where it goes. I know he's afraid, because he told me he was really trying with me, like a few days ago.
I know things happened really quickly between us, but we agreed to be friends.
What should I do?
Just keep hanging out with him, and either hope my crush goes away, or he decides to stop being afraid of everything?
Should I just let it go?
I don't know what to do.

keep hanging out with him, but give him his emotional space. i wouldn't try to push him into something bigger because he's obviously not ready. and i would prepare myself for worst-- that he is never ready. it will be hard, i'm sure, but i would still be friends.

Sounds like he isn't interested and doesn't want to hurt your feelings.

It just sucks. I mean he said he realized the other day that we'd never get to have a private relationship because his ex and my ex are friends, and his ex wanted to cause drama the other day

Probably doesn't want to lose you completely or wants to keep his options open. I wouldn't wait around. If he is interested he will tell you. Don't put your life on hold for a what if
