doing own taxes vs. getting them done..help?

I have a couple questions. I'm thinking about doing my own this year using TurboTax or whatever..normally I get them done by someone who does awesome at getting us a good refund. Usually my appointment with my CPA isn't until mid February..and I need the refund like now.

If I do it myself do you think ill get back as much as I normally do when getting it done by a CPA?

Also is it really easy to use TurboTax ?

Do you get your taxes back faster doing it by yourself?

Depends on how complicated your return is. If its fairly basic then yes I say its always easier and cheaper to do them yourself. The sooner you file the sooner you get a refund. If its a complicated return then it might be better to let someone else do them but pay attention and ask questions so you can learn to do them yourself.

You'll get back the same if not more because you're not paying to get them done. You're doing it for free if you do it yourself.

I use H&R block so idk if Turbo Tax is the same but I'm sure its just as easy. Its near impossible to screw it up. I'm getting mine back on Monday already. It was submitted on the 30th

It all depends on how simple or complicated your return is. TurboTax is super easy to use, so you shouldn't have any issues. It gets complicated if you itemize deductions or worked for yourself, though. If we had anything like that on our taxes, we'd have someone else do them. But since all we do is claim income and dependents, ours are super easy to file.

i do them myself and got the same amount as someone who would file them for me but for free! i use freetaxusa.com its so easy if u have a easy tax return!

I would just start doing them on turbo tax. If it gets to complicated then go to your tax person.

That sounds pretty simple to me. We do all of that but mortage, but I know that is an easy form to use bc I did it for my mom. I files on turbotax for DH and myself, as well as for my mom and my sis and BIL lol. They use me for my skills
