induction types

Is stripping your membranes considered a form of induction? I am trying to weigh all my options...

A membrane is sweep is no more of an induction method then having sex, going for a walk, ect. Only difference is its typically done by a doctor during an office visit. It doesnt always work but if it does it usually in the first 48 hours.

I have had it done before, I just didn't know what they considered it to be cause they won't induce me this time around. This is because of rules at the hospital I am delivering at.

I want too..but we don't know yet. I have extensive health issues associated with pregnancy and have to discuss it with the team of Dr's at my hospital. I have a lot of choices to make

No all it dose is loosens or streches your cirvixs a bit so that if it were to be ready to start thining out that it will due so. I have been induced 5 times and i probley will be this time as well and from what my doc told me all is dose is gets the body started in labor if the body is going to do so. It is natural hormones that the body releases in labor in how. Good luck,
