Recovery time after tubes tied?

posted 3rd Feb
Hey ladies

So, my question is for those of you who have had your tubes tied after having your children, what was it like afterwards? Soreness wise? Days? I'm going to see my OB on Wednesday to have my yearly and schedule getting my tubes tied.

Kinda nervous. Thanks for any advice!

It depends on the type of tubal you get.

I had the Essure procedure, it took 7 months not to be in crippling pain. It's been well over a year and I wish I could have the coils taken out.

With a regular tubal some people are in pain for a day or two, and it's usually from the gas.

Ok, thanks! I didnt know there were different types. I have Crohns disease as well, so they probably will do the lesser pain one on me. I will tell them that neways. lol.

Thanks for the reply!

They will recommend the Essure procedure then. They are convinced it's 'painless'. The procedure itself doesn't hurt, but afterwards it's hell.
and honestly if they do tell you to get Essure, I would say do lots of research. And not just from their website they are biased. Check forums, there are facebook groups of women suffering and having to get hysterectomies to get these darn coils out. Sometimes they push out of the tube and into other organs. It's a mess!
I hope you find something that works for you.

I had no pain with mine.

I took the day off of work to get it done. Hubby and I even went out shopping afterwards for my daughter birthday party and all. I went back to work the next day and everything. I didn't even fill my prescription of pain medication my doctor gave me.

I had the regular procedure where my doctor went in through my belly button. I guess I need to add that I seem to have a very high pain tolerance so I don't know if that made a difference or not
