Carseats

posted 3rd Feb
I've just been taking LOs coat off when we get to the car, or putting her in a warm but not too thick hoodie/jacket if I know we won't be outside for more than ten feet to the car and to the house, then cover her with a blankie (that, I'll admit, is left in the car so it's chilly) that she usually promptly throws off. She does get gloves, hat, etc

Do you think that's okay? I feel terrible when I take her coat off but my car warms up quickly (but must be driving, won't warm while idling) and I'd rather her be in her straps tight.. I have been having horrible flashes of her flying through the windshield

I do the same thing, my car is warmed up with extra blankets   my kids safety is very important but I do make sure they are nice and warm.

We just have one blanket we use all the time for going out. It's bigger so it wraps around him well. He NEVER wears a coat, ever. He has a few thin cotton hoodies, like the thickness of a shirt. But they're getting too small. If it's bad I'll double up a long sleeve and a short sleeve shirt. And we try and keep a hat on him. But other than that it's just a blanket wrapping him up.

ETA: outside the car of course then covering him once he's buckled.

I couldn't keep that on my 2.5 year old and carry the diaper bag and little guy's carseat, too... Maybe a poncho would work. Eek, I hate winter!

For 2.5 I'd have the coat with a fleece under of some kind, then take the coat off and give them a blanket. Then put the coat back on them as we got out.
