HCG vs LH

my period is 3 days late and I had a couple ovulation tests so I took one and it was negative. Would this mean that Im not pregnant? because ovulation tests can't tell the difference between HCG and LH?

I think it's time for you to stop wasting ovulation tests on trying to find out if you're pregnant, and start taking pregnancy tests.

Most likely. Or you ovulated late and you're too early for it to show on a test.

No, you won't always get a positive with ovulation tests. Here's the best way I can explain it. HCG and LH are essentially fraternal twins. Think the Olsen twins. THey look a lot alike, and they can pass for each other. But they are not the same with further inspection. So, they won't always pass for each other. Does that make sense? LOL I wouldn't rely on an ovulation test for a positive or a negative. Go grab a dollar tree pregnancy test  

I heard that SOME people get positive ovulation tests when they are pregnant. But usually a FRER test picks up well before the OPK does.

HCG abd LH are 2 compeely different things. You need to take a pregnancy test.

HCG and LH are almost identical on a molecular level. You can use OPKs as HPTs but generally if you have enough HCG to get a dark OPK, then you should be able to get a positive HPT.

that's what I thought . That's why I took a ovulation test I had left just to get some hope that it would be positive and then buy an hcg one later since I didn't have any left. But looks like if I am pregnant then I ovulated on my second surge instead so I probably won't be able to get a positive until the 6th
