Spotting/early pregnancy

This is a question for my sister

She will be 6 weeks tomorrow with her first baby. I'd say for about the past 5 days she has been spotting. It's usually pinkish and she said it has only shown on her underwear just a couple times, but it is constantly there when she wipes. She doesn't have her first OB appointment until 8 weeks.

Everything I have read said that this is very common. I'm just curious if this has happened to any of you or anyone you know, and what was the outcome. I didn't spot at all when I was pregnant, so I have no idea.

I'm trying to keep her positive, but she is so worried all day, everyday about it.

This may not be her case but wheni found out i was pregnant in june i had the same thing she has, and something just didnt feel right, i didnt even wanan wipe half the time.. found out i was miscarrying and i was aroudn the same tim she is :/ .. DEF NOT WISHING Taht on her thought, hopefully thats normal.. i have heard spotting is normal etc in early pregnancy

It is kindof normal..I have spotted with all 4 pregnancies..this one I am almost 8 weeks and have been spotting off and on for 2 weeks...My OBGYN said as long as there arent big clots, its filling a pad fast, or cramping..then its probably just a sensitive cervix (which I have)...If she is really concerned she should be checked

How long did your spotting last? And did it eventually get heavier so that you knew you were miscarrying?

So sorry that happened to you. Of course I hope everything goes okay for my sister, but I know there is nothing she can do to prevent it. If its gonna happen, Its gonna happen

I have heard that some spotting is normal as long as it isn't red in color and you don't have cramps. But I would go to the ER just to be on the safe side.

Yea. Her's is super light, it just worried me that its constant. There is never a time she wipes that there isn't a little something on the toilet paper. And this has been happening for at least 5 days

Im nto to sure it was for about a week, and it didnt get heavier for awhile just light pink in color. After they said MC is when it started to get darker and extremely crampy.,.. i had light cramps liek af was comnig. but ive had this since i found out i was pregnant again adn they subsided and i feel good abotu this pregnancy the other one in june i knew somethign wasnt right. ASk her how she feels? is this her first? They say u know if somethign feels right or not.. maybe she should be checked to ease her mind.

get her checked to make her feel more relaxed...she we be a constant worrier until she gets checked

I thought it was pointless to go to the ER?? I didn't think they could do anything. I think she is just waiting it out for a couple of weeks till her first appointment.

They really wont do anything if miscarrying but if everything is ok then she will have that peace of mind instead of stressing for 2 more weeks

They cant do anythign but they can either confirm or say baby is healthy.

I'd just tell her to call her OB tomorrow and ask if she can be seen now since she's spotting frequently. She might not be able to see a heatbeat yet but they will see whether or not the embryo is forming and on track.

Yea this is her first. But she said everything else is normal. No crazy cramping. She is just scared to be excited because of the spotting.

Well whatd id say is bc i didnt have crazy cramping in the beginning of my mc either, NOT SAYING SHE IS MC. but take her to get a pioece of mind etc.. they will do an ultrasound and see how baby is doing.

With my second pregnancy I spotted for the first 13 weeks sometimes heavy sometimes light. I had a healthy baby boy! She should get her levels checked and make sure her progesterone is ok. My dr seems to think that's what my problem was so put me on progrsterone for a while to try and help the spotting.
