Mirena....

OK I have heard things good and bad about mirena. Ive heard about the lawsuits and all that jazz....what I want is peoples opinions and experiences with this birth control. I have it and have had it since 2010 and it has been wonderful til now. I hear so much now about women becoming pregnant from it and im really nervous because im not gaining weight on it ...which i know can be normal with BC but i feel tired alllll the time im feeling discomfort during sex in certain positions...sorry TMI but i want to make myself clear....please if anyone has any advice let me know. Maybe I am experiencing completely normal things but then again I dont know I just like to have someone to help me debate this until i can get my insurance back up and running to see a doctor.

I had Mirena in and started bleeding very heavily after NO period, I also didn't gain weight, I went to the dr. and there was fetal tissue in the blood they did an ultrasound I had a baby and no mirena...After my son was born they did an x ray and found the mirena I had to have it surgically removed It was so scarry and made my pregnancy high risk

I Dont bleed heavily i have a little bleeding for like 6 or 7 days then maybe a couple months before the next but i have strange feelings in my stomach tonight...can a pregnancy test show positive with mirena

and did you have a healthy pregnancy after removing the mirena or was is ectopic..i always here about that

It will show pos if your pregnant and my pregnancy was not exactly healthy but I do have a healthy baby boy out of it I spent a lot of time in the hospital then when I came home I was on monitors that transmitted info to the hospital

I am glad you have a healthy boy.   I just dont know what to do and I really dont know if im just being crazy about the mirena ...Ive just heard alot of bad things here lately so i dont know if i should just have it removed.

It should be up to you and how you feel about it I know people who have had it for years with out any problems in my very small area I know of 4 people who have gotten pregnant with it in and had healthy babies and 1 person who had it in and miscarried when they removed it. I had a lot of pain during intercourse in certain positions and sometimes I wonder if that's the reason it perforated my uterus the thing that worried me the most though was that it made me have an irritable uterus during pregnancy because it was rubbing on the outside when I got bigger
