Info on labor?

posted 8th Jun
Alright, I know there has to be another topic just like this one, but I'm lazy right now, and I kinda want to start a fresh one.

So as of today I am 28 weeks & 4 days.
And theres 80 days to go!

I'm kind of starting to freak out, especailly about the whole labor part, and I really want to hear about it from all of you who have already had babies, and what to expect. And if you are comfortable sharing, it would be great (as odd as it may sound) To share as much as you can about the whole thing...

It would mean a lot, and hopefully help clear up all this craziness in my head!

I would appreciate any advice, info, or stories.

Let's just say contractions are a bitch! lol. Felt like I was being stabbed in the abdomen over and over. Remember the epidural can be your best friend if you let it. hehe. You'll do fine. I'm such a pussy when it comes to pain.

I had a WONDERFUL labor and delivery! It was my first baby and everyone was telling me to expect a horribly long, uncomfortable labor and it was the complete opposite! My water broke at 2:46 am and i was at the hospital by 3. I was already at 4 cm by the time i got there and i was barely have contractions. with in 4 hours i was dilated to 10 and ready to push! I only pushed for 7 mins and my beautiful little girl was born! She was 7 lbs 13 oz so she wasn't small and i did a 100% natural labor and delivery.. that's right... NO drugs! It was the best experience i ever had and I actually told my mom immediatly after she was born that i was ready to do it agian! haha Good luck to ya hun.. everything will be fine and the end result makes it all worth your while no matter how your labor goes...

Short version...
for about a day and a half i was having really bad back pain... the only comfortable position for me was on all fours.
It was 2 weeks before my due date and the pain wasn't gettin worse... staying the same... i honestly thought i was just constipated lol.
so anyway, i try to go to the bathroom and im pushing to try and poop lol... and out comes the muscus plug instead... then my water broke/ so i went to scott... im pretty sure my water just broke ... so we hopped in his car and drove to the hospital... at this point the pain in my lower back was becoming worse and worse... it would come and go. (obviously these were my contractions) we get to the ER and i tell them what happened and they take me right in. At this point i was screaming at scott cause i was in so much pain. he started rubbing my lower back as i leaned over... this helped a lot.
then a nurse came to examine me... i was 9cm dialated so they take me to L&D room. by the time i get there I am fully dialated and ready to push. I didn't get there soon enough to get an eupidural. They gave me some gas to breath to help with the pain.
So the doctor tells me to hold my knees up and when there is a contraction to push as hard as I can... this went on for about an hour. The baby wasn't moving... so they examined me again and they found the baby was facing the wrong way... so I got rushed into an emergency c section and that was that.

I went in thinking I would try to go all natural but then the pain was sooo intense I begged for the epidural. But by then it was too late... It was time for me to push. lol OMG was it painful

My labor and delivery was awesome! I had to be induced, so I showed up at the hospital at 6 AM. They hooked me up to the pitocin, and checked me every hour. I dilated very slowly. At 1:30, the doc broke my water, and the contractions came a little stronger. At 2:15, in comes the anesthesiologist, and gave my the epidural, and it was smooth sailing from there. I didn't even know when I was having a contraction!! It was awesome!! Anyway, I was still dilating very slow. I was still at 6 cm, at 7 Pm. They were having a shift change, so I got a new nurse who said that if I moved around more, then I would dilate faster. So, she had me turn over, sit up, then turn back over. At 8 pm, I was at 9 cm!! So, I relaxed for a while, and took a short nap. At around 10 pm, I was fully dilated, and her head started crowning before I ever pushed. I pushed about five times, and she was born at 10:28 pm.
My advice is to take it easy, relax, and don't be afraid to get an epidural. It doesn't hurt at all. lol
Good luck to you!!
