See that is like me and my Dh. I went through my entire life with a huge understanding of just how smurffy this world can be. my father beat my mother and when she left him he went in and out of jail due to drug and I saw him maybe 4 times over the next 11 year and talked to him maybe half a dozen times out side of that. My mother talk about her sexual abuse by her father to us at an early age openly and honestly. Among other things. Where as my Dh never so much as went to public school. He was home schooled in a strict catholic home the second oldest of 10 children. He got his ged at 16 and started working and lived with his parents until he was in his 20's and we had been dating for a year. By that time I had already had a child and been in an abusive relationship were I was blinded in my right eye. He had no first hand knowledge of the realities of life like I had. There for our believes are completely different.

I'm against pro-lifers because I have worked with a woman who lived in El Salvador (a pro-life) country, she and her 14 year old daughter who was a rape victim fled to Australia when they were told she was going to have to die due to an ectopic.

The only thing I wanted to add is that people do loose site of the things in teh whole idea of "pro-life".

When I was going through miscarriage after miscarriage, I went to mass with my family on Mother's Day to please my mother. I didn't want to get out of bed that day, let alone go to church, but I was trying. So I set through all the mothers being asked to stand for a special blessing & all that blah blah only to lead into, for whatever reason, a moment of silence for all the babies lost to abortion...um what? It's mother's day right? How about all the mothers who lost their babies, those that had stillborns & miscarriages? Oh wait - THOSE aren't REAL babies in that case & those aren't real mothers then if they have no living children. Apparently we don't need them to stand or even remain silent for a moment of payer for them....but aborted babies are somehow super precious. Whatever. It is hypocritical is what it is. I'll just say, having miscarraiges has been VERY eye opening to me when it comes to prolifers. The most compassionate support I have received has not been from prolifers, quite the opposite IME.

And for whatever it is worth, I AM personally prolife - for me. Politically I am prochoice because I believe others are entitled to their OWN beliefs & I would never infringe on that.

Soon after I lost my first pregnancy I had a staunch Catholic woman I worked with who told me there's no such thing as a miscarriage, its God punishing you for your sins.

That is because children are suppose to be gifts from god and there for if you keep losing babies then it must be your fault. Total bullsmurf.

Well if that's the case then God is being an smurf. I've been so much including a brain tumour, a miscarriage and now RA. You would of thought a brain tumour would of been enough.

Oh my GOODNESS being of christian faith that really disturbs me!!!! So I just had too say, THAT IS SO NOT TRUE! What a warped view, that lady is not with it I tell ya. Who is she to say how God dictates himself anyway?? Oh man that really ticked me off. Totally warping everyone eles veiw! It ain't even close to the truth folks!!
