Any Mommy's had their babies on Prednisolone

The pediatrician recently put my 6 month old DD on prednisolone for an ear infection that wasn't going away with antibiotics. She has been on it for 3 days and so far the only thing its done for her is make her super cranky and eat nonstop. She is a naturally thin baby and is literally getting fat. It looks unhealthy on her. She has 2 more days on it (4 more doses) and I know I should follow the doctor's direction but there has to be a better alternative her ear is getting slightly better but she is still tugging on it but she was less fussy with the ear infection. If your baby was put on this med at any point how did they react she is super fussy, not sleeping, and eating nonstop.

It made my DD fussy, she has been off for 2 days and still is more fussy. She was on if for breathing problems (She had RSV and pneumonia). I don't know if this makes since but it made her mucous very thick and hard to bring up.

They have my daughter on an albuterol nbulizer twice a day she just finished 10 days of amoxicillin and they have her on the prednisolone for another 2 days. So far I see no improvements in her at all. She had an upper respiratory infection from mold in my apartment (they are taking care of it) and then she got an ear infection. The poor baby is miserable and the meds are just making it worse.

Sometimes the side effects of medication makes them worse! My DD is on albuterol nebs every 4 hours as needed for wheezes and it causes her heart to race and then the prednisolone causes her to be fussy!
