Diono Radian R120 Convertible Car Seat

posted 2nd Feb
Has this topic been beat to death? if so i'm sorry. I'm going to get an extra car seat for our other vehicle and ran across this one. I've read a lot of great things about it. The one I have now is the Safety 1st Alpha Elite 65 and that one, despite my liking it, has gotten questionable reviews. I can't find anything negative online about the Diono... thoughts? TIA!

It's tall, so it can't always RF in tiny cars (does fine in my hubs' Corolla, though).

It is heavy to carry (which i never need to do anyway).

Other than that, there's nothing negative. It's perfect! I'm ordering my 3rd one next week

Justkidsstore has them for 199!

awesome thank you for the info! we have a Chevy Malibu and a Chevy Silverado. If anything i'll be trading the Malibu for a GMC Terrain soon... so I think (hopefully) we will have room enough. I never have to carry the one we have now so that's good. I think i'm going to get it   hopefully it works out. I like that it turns into a Booster too. I don't think the one I have now does that.

It is a pretty well liked car seat. There are some complaints about it being hard to install rear facing because it is so tall and awkward looking BUT a lot of people like that they can tether the seat while rear facing.

All in all it is a good seat

I saw that . That the height has made it a little tricksy for rear facing. We didn't seem to have any issues getting the one he has now RFing and that was a major complaint about it. Hopefully the same can be said for this one. My only concern is i'm going to be alone while hubby deploys and he is usually the one that deals with getting the seats in there correctly bc he's stronger. BUT I think if I have issues I will take the seat to the fire dept and ask one of them to help me

It's amazing! It can be tricky to install in some cars but so worth the effort. The Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite 65 is good for a RF seat but it has some flaws in it's extended system. I definitely wouldn't use it as a belt positioning booster ever.

I had no probs during my hubby's deployment. I just had any guy yank it to super-tighten when I was done, but I can get it in safely myself without a problem---unjust like the extra just-in-case

I am sure you will be fine

I tried to talk DH into getting it for my 3 year old and he couldn't justify buying a $300 seat for her   So I am getting another Nautilus

I really wanted a purple one. So sad! Guess she'll have red to match her bro!

Is the red still cheaper but the rest went up? I got the spring one. Lylian
Is jealous cause the frontier was only pink and black. "why does Scarlytt get flowers on her seat and i dont?" haha. She has a pink flower nautilus in dads car so I said "well you have a pretty pink one in dads car and Scarlytt only had boring green. So you're even" haha when I added the frontier to my cart it was $209. By the time I went back to read it over one more time it went up to $226 I think. Luckily it locked in my price haha

The red and gray ones are still 199 on just kids store. What site did you buy from?

That one. Idk why they're all random prices. It's crazy. The spring one was 119. Then i didn't get it and when I finally went back to get it was $123 I think.

I HATE the fabric on that one. There are red and dark gray ones that have one kind of fabric and then the other kinds have a softer/fluffy fabric---which is SOOO hard to clean! Gah! I hate it. I want the more industrial fabric like the red/purple/blue/dark gray.
