bbt and opk do NOT agree
posted 2nd Feb
Ok so my lmp was Jan 16 I am on the clock to the dot 28 day cycle. My ovulation calculator said I would ovulate on cd15 (Jan 30) this is my first month TTC and I started BBT and opk this month....my bbt dipped down lower then all my temps on cd14 and spiked from 96.08 to 96.83 on cd15 and a little higher the next day to 96.80 ..... Then it dropped...to 96.5 yesterday and 96.48 this morning.Additional my opk turned pos on cd15 in the evening (I test twice a day, it was negative opk in the am) and very much darker cd16.
I bd on cd 7,8,13&15 .... But im just confused. I don't know what to believe. My bbt isn't telling me much and I uses two different types of opks this month walgreens dipstick 20 count, twice a day .... I wasn't sure if they were working so I bought the answer peestick 7 count. The 7 pack was used alongside the dipsticks. The answer kind never registered pos even when the Walgreens did. So my situation is overwhelming. And I'm afraid I might have missed my o day.

It usually takes at least 2-3 days from when you get a positive OPK until you show a temp shift on your chart.
ETA You don't want to see a temp shift before you've had a chance to BD because by then it's too late!

Do you check CM? That's another good indicator. Have you read "Charting Your Way to Conception"? It's a good read!

Really? I was under the impression it changed sooner....but that does make me feel better I hope I see the temp spike tommorro then. Thank you

You typically get your LH surge about 24-36 hours before you ovulate and then it takes at least another day after you ovulate to produce enough progesterone to cause your temp to rise. Should happen soon!

Yes maam.....my cm was watery cd 11-13 then eggshell 14 creamy 15 and 16 then I have been dry since .... Also my cervical position was open and soft on cd 13,14,15,16 and now is closed high and firm. So I'm sure ovulation has occurred I just dnk when and I haven't got 3 consecutive high temps yet

I'd would go with your opk, bbt is secondary and your temps arent that far off from eachother. Did you have any fertile cm?

Really? My app puts bbt and cm as primary and opks secondary.

OPKs give you a heads up on upcoming ovulation but BBT is the only way to confirm it has happened. They perform two different functions in fertility tracking.

What app do you use? I use "my days" as ovulation calculator and cycle tracker and have used it for a yr to know how long my cycles were prior to TTC and I use fertility friend .... For bbt ans opk and cm

Cm 1st. Temps can be influenced by many things, not the same time recording pattern, cold, stress, ect.
