Would your husband do this?

posted 2nd Feb
Alright ladies. So my husband was holding our 9 week old daughter tonight. He was wearing a button up shirt with a pocket in the front, he likes the pocket because he can put his ciggerates and lighter in there. Well, he knows not to hold our children with anything inside his front pocket because there have been many occassions where his ciggerate pack would scratch or leave marks on our girls. I noticed he had his ciggerates and lighter in his pocket, and I tried to take them out, and he grabbed my wrist extremely hard. In the five years weve been married hes never put his hands on me...what would have you ladies done in my situation. I'm so shocked, I dont know what to say or do...
Only thing that really bothers me is both of my children saw him do it. Thats not okay.

did he explain why he grabbed you so hard? Was it impulse?

Just curious, is his cigarette pack made of metal or something?

I would pull him aside and talk to him about it...chances are if he's never done that before, maybe he didn't realize how hard he grabbed you?

My husband wouldn't dare do that.

I honestly would leave. I don't put up with that smurf.

Was he mad? Joking? I would point blank tell him don't ever touch me like that again to be honest

Smurfed up. Maybe he had something in his cigarette pack or pocket he didn't want you to find? I used to keep my smurf in my cig pack, in my past life.

The fact that he doesn't take that smurf out of the pocket when he's already scratched your kids faces makes him a DICK in my book.

This! He may not have realized how hard he grabbed you. My Husband did that once he didn't realize how hard he had grabbed my arm to stop me from touching something hot and left a bruise   He felt really bad for it afterwards.

My husband would never do that, no. The only way I would let it go is if it was truly on impulse, and he felt really bad about it.

I agree what he did was smurfed up. But would I leave over it? No. Not unless things got super messy when we tried to talk about it.

Sometimes I grab too hard out of impulse. My niece (13 month old) bit my leg the other day and I almost hurt her because I didn't expect her to do that and my reflex is really quit. Tell him that it bothered you and ask for an explanation. I don't stand for violence but I would leave over this.

Yeah, he doesn't need to grab me, hit me or anything he is a grown man with a family who was in the room. He can use his words if he has a problem. I didn't say leve for good but I would leave for the night and have a serious talk when I came back.

Have you asked for an explanation? Maybe it was just a reflex. Next time ask him to put his smurf away before you give him the kids.
