Don't feel bad. You said yourself there was no harm done. It's not a total loss of control, and you have no reason to feel like a smurffy parent. Your LO still loves you unconditionally.

Don't beat yourself up mama! I was beat when I was a kid (not just spankings, bordering on child abuse) so I never wanted to spank my kids. I have a few times when nothing else was getting through and I would feel bad and baby them and they learned nothing. Spankings just aren't for everyone, but don't beat yourself up.

He said "Why are you crying mommy" and I said "Because I hurt you" and he said "Mommy I'm not hurt" but I still feel like smurf.

How old? I spank my 4 year old when needed. And slap my two year old on his hand.

Aw, it's okay. I know not everyone feels the way i do, but i personally think spanking is sometimes a very good thing, from personal experience and the change i see in my kids behavior it has made a positive difference for us. But i never felt bad or guilty for it, i always felt like it necessary when i do it.
