No religion=world peace?
posted 2nd Feb
Stemming from another post...
If there was no religion, would there be world peace? Or would people still find some thing to fight over, such as family, money, land, food etc...

the human race will always find something to fight over, religion just give them a reason to blame it on.

Of course not. The wonderful thing about humans is we have such differing views and cultures. It is embedded in us and each person is different. The downside of that is not everyone will agree with what we believe in, religious or not. War is inevitable unfortunately. We should just be glad that world war is economically stupid right now.

I don't find religion to be an issue, I find the hypocritical people who use their religious views as a way to push something on someone or back up their nonsense is the issue.

I think greed and the idea of power fuel wars just as much, if not more, as religion does.

Land is a huge one. And money. Power.

Of course there would be more wars our basic human laws are built on religion.
Think about it no religion no law, no 10 commandments. The world would be all for one and one for all, the weakest would die we would be murdered raped and so on, there would be no need for a police....
I in no way believe in religion but i believe in the commandments, I mean people still break them and when people do they are punished or ridiculed in some way shape or form, because thats what religion, the world and it's people believe in.

Land, power, money, language, politics, ethnicity. We're creative in our destruction.
quoteposted 2nd Feb
Make a one world, take out extremists, get rid of money, and possessions, start fresh, rebrainwash the world and then, you might have a chance to end war.
maybe.
quoteposted 2nd Feb
No, humans always find something to fight and argue about. Without religion it'll be something else.

There were laws before the 10 Commandments....the first codified laws were not based on religion at all.
