The one in the pic, the Britax 2 way elite. It's not nearly as padded as yours, it's one thing i dislike about it, but there are only a few ERF seats available in this country and at $350 it was the best i could do.

$350 is a lot. My goodness. We got his Size4Me for $170. I love the seat. I bought two...one for each car.

ERF is not common in the UK at all. Kids as young as 9 months are FF.

Yup it's ridiculous how much they cost here, some cost nearly double that but it was way out of my budget but those were the padded ones. I figure since he's not in a car that often there was no point. There's only a small chance i'll be able to afford a car this year so he will most likely be over 4yrs by the time he's in a car on a regular basis, i figure i could just get a more padded FF seat at that point for long journeys.

My son made it to 5, we switched my daughter at the same time because she complained that she wanted to be like him   she was a little over 3 and my 19 month old is still RFing. We plan to keep her that way as long as we can, same with the new baby.

I made it to 3 with DD. I feel like I turned her prematurly. Though I don't think P will make it as long because she is a chunk.

I heard it weighs a ton and in the store looks very bulky.

We are going with the Diono Radian for the new baby and he/she will rearface until weight/height limit. Most pedis here are pushing 2 years and 30 lbs now anyway.

I have a mini van so as long as it fits in the single side seat then we are good. I probably go even longer than 2 years old. I told my mom that what we were doing the other day and she threw a fit. We really didnt have car sear growing up. We had the type with the bar that goes up and we could get out of it all the time. But it what we are doing and im happy.   Im still going to look around at other types of seats though.

We had a Graco My Ride 65 and he had outgrown it rfing back in the summer so he ff for a bit in it and the whole time he did, I was super paranoid while driving especially since he's so petite built. Was so glad that Size4Me/My Size came out in October 2012 because it's got a longer shell and it's inexpensive. We were able to turn him back to rfing.

However, 3 isn't horrible. It's much, much better than 1 like most people. Don't feel bad

My son has this carseat. It's an awesome seat and don't worry about the infant padding coming out. We took it out when he was 6 months cause he didn't fit with it in...it's an awesome carseat it's slightly heavy so I would suggest buying two bases one for each car so then you just have to move the seat itself. Love love love the seat though.his 18 months now and loves the seat.

It's still padded after you take the infant pad out
